Employer Assisted Housing                       

HODC is a member of the Regional Employer-Assisted Collaboration for Housing, which offers the Employer Assisted Housing program to local employers in cooperation with the Metropolitan Planning Council.  As a designated REACH partner, HODC administers the program on behalf of sponsoring employers, including the selection of employees to receive grants, and provides counseling to first-time homebuyers. 

REACH helps employers attract and retain employees by providing affordable housing close to work, while offering significant tax incentives to the employer to help offset the costs of the program.  The City of Evanston agreed to begin a pilot program with HODC during the year.  Discussions are underway with two other employers to offer the program in the future.  If you are an employer and are interested in becoming a partner in the REACH program, please contact Richard Koenig at (847) 251-7052.
